Separated by only a few points in the Best in the Desert Championship, Marc Ewing had no choice but to go all out in this last event. He and Jordan Poole, Riot's co-driver, ran with the best in their class and by nightfall pulled into 5th place. The finish put Riot Racing in 4th place for the entire BITD season— an outcome that the team couldn't have imagined a year ago.
