Best In The Desert designations of classes eligible for the Ford Performance Awards, and payouts, will be as follows:

The 2007 Ford Performance Rewards Factoring Matrix (where payouts may be adjusted by vehicle model & year) is part of this program.
· Year End Championship bonuses for Best In The Desert, value to be announced later, will be paid to 1400, 3100, 4100, 7300 and 8100 class "Best In The Desert Class Champions" who fulfill all eligibility requirements.
· Each champion must have been driver of record of Ford vehicles in each of all five (5) Best In The Desert car and truck events.
To be eligible for an award the driver / team must satisfy the following requirements:
o Utilized a Ford vehicle in each event.
o While driving each driver must wear a Ford patch on the upper chest area of their driver's suit.
o The vehicle must complete the racecourse within regulations, including allotted time.
o Must prominently display 13 ½” “Ford” Oval decal on the leading edge of the hood, “Built Ford Tough” decal on each "B" pillar, 3" x 6" “Ford Truck” decal both sides of upper or lower windshield corners and 11" x 16" “Ford Truck” decals on both body sides. Neither placement, nor decals utilized should be modified without written authorization of Ford, Clifford Irey (cirey@ford.com).
Highly recommended (but not required to be eligible):
o Each race team should submit a publicity release form to their sanctioning body.
o Each team is encouraged to utilize help from their sanctioning body’s media relations department. We recommend supplying a brief biography of team activities – including information about the vehicle, team owner, driver/crew and race shop. Current photographs of driver and race vehicle are suggested.
2007 Ford Performance Awards Factoring Matrix
Ford encourages use of our latest products. The '07 Ford Performance Rewards program will incorporate factoring of the payout value by base Vehicle and its Model Year considering both chassis and body vintage.

SLA Definition: Short Long Arm. Commonly called “A-arm”. Suspension that is independent where the upper control arm is shorter than the lower control arm, creating a geometry that forces the tire to move in a more vertical travel pattern.
